Thursday, November 5, 2009

(Cleveland) - A Lake County man has been killed in what appears to be a drug deal gone sour.

Cleveland Police say 43-year-old Joseph D. Willis of Perry was shot and killed during a drug related robbery in the 1100 block of E. 144
St. before 5:15 pm Wednesday evening.

Lieutenant Thomas Stacho says Willis and a friend went to the area to buy drugs. As they began to make the transaction, two males approached the car they were in and robbed them.

Willis attempted to drive away when one of the robbers opened fire. Willis was struck in the face and later died at
Huron Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 5:49 pm.

There are no arrests at this time.
