(Jefferson) - The Ashtabula County Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday that Kelsie Blankenship of Conneaut is in custody, and is now charged in the murder of her own 13 month old daughter.
Blankenship's live in boyfriend, Joshua Gurto was arrested earlier, but police are seeking to have death penalty charges against him dismissed, as their investigation continues.
In October of last year, Sereniti Sutley was found unresponsive in an apartment in the 500 block of Clark Street, in Conneaut.
The toddler later died at University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center. Investigators said the child suffered blunt force trauma to the head and body.
Gurto was captured after fleeing to the Pittsburgh area, and was charged with aggravated murder, murder, rape, felonious assault and domestic violence.
