Senators want answers from GM

Washington, DC - Ohio's two U.S. Senators say General Motors is "sidestepping" their questions about the future of the company's Lordstown plant

“While we asked GM to provide clarity to the Lordstown community, the company chose to sidestep our questions instead. As we head into the holiday season, workers at Lordstown are faced with fear and uncertainty about their futures. They deserve better. We will continue pushing GM to do the right thing, provide answers to its workers, and bring another vehicle to Lordstown to ensure workers keep their jobs".

The two senators met with GM President Mary Barra earlier this month after the company announced it would close the Lordstown facility in March 2019.

In a statement, Brown and Portman point out that GM announced plans to build a new Chevy Blazer in Mexico, the same day the company ended a second shift at one of its plants.
