On 12/21/18 WPD officers responded to a report of a loud rooster on Sperrys Forge Tr. Officers confirmed that the resident in fact did have the foul. The owners were advised that they would have to find it another home. The resident agreed to keep the loud rooster in the garage until it could be moved.
On 12/22/18 WPD officers located a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot of the Red Roof Inn on Clemens. The vehicle was reported as stolen out of Cleveland. Investigation revealed that the occupants of one of the rooms at the hotel were associated with the stolen car. In speaking with a male in the room, it was learned that not only did he have an active warrant for his arrest, his story about how he obtained the vehicle did not add up. The 33yo from Cleveland was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, a felony.
On Christmas Eve at approx. 11:30PM officers responded to a 1 car MVA on Columbia Rd near Westwood. They arrived to find that a minivan had struck a utility pole. The female operator indicated that she was not injured but did show signs of intoxication. She did not know why she struck the pole.
The 64yo from Rocky River was field tested and arrested for OVI and failure to control. At the jail she submitted to a breath test and was found to be well over the legal limit.
On Christmas at approx. 8:30PM WPD officers were dispatched to the Regal Cinema for reported disorderly customers in one of the theaters. Evidently there were several complaints about the loud group that were also recording the movie. Several in the group disputed the accusations and had to be escorted from the business. One in particular was argumentative and refused to identify herself. The 32yo from Olmsted Falls ended up being arrested for obstructing official business along with resisting arrest for her actions. She was later released with a court date in Rocky River Municipal Court.
On 12/26/18 at approx. 11:30AM an officer stopped a vehicle on Hilliard Bl for equipment violations. The driver had no license and had an active warrant from Cleveland PD. To make matters worse, the 24yo from Cleveland was in possession of marijuana. While the officers were on scene, the registered owner of the vehicle, a 26yo from Cleveland, arrived on scene driven by his girlfriend. His driver’s license was also suspended and he admitted that he allowed the 24yo driver to operate the car without a license. The 26yo owner was cited with Wrongful Entrustment for allowing his vehicle to go with the unlicensed driver. The car was impounded and towed due to the lack of people with active licenses on scene.
On 12/26/18 a resident on Brigadoon Ct reported that they arrived home to find that someone had thrown a rock through a 1st floor window. No other damage was found on the home and no entry was made.

On 12/26/18 at approx. 10:45PM officers responded to the area of East Melrose and South Melrose for a report of 2 suspicious occupied vehicles on the street. The patrolmen found that five 19-20 year olds were in one of the cars. Being that the inside of the vehicle smelled of marijuana, the investigation continued. In all one baggie of suspected marijuana was confiscated. A 20yo from Lakewood admitted it belonged to him and he was cited with possession. They all were sent on their way.
