Rocky River Police Blotter: Road Rage and OVI's

  • On 07/26/2019 at about 10:25 PM several callers reported a reckless black pick-up truck on Northview Rd. at Hilliard Blvd. that was hitting traffic/construction cones. Police located the truck getting onto Interstate 90 eastbound at Hilliard and stopped it. After noticing indicators that the driver had been drinking, police administered field sobriety tests. Timothy Higgenbotham, 56-years-old from Avon Lake, was arrested for drunk driving.

 

  • On 07/27/2019 at about 3:30 PM several callers reported a gold Buick struck several cars on Wagar Rd. between Hilliard Blvd. and Center Ridge Rd. and left the scene. The vehicle was later stopped by Fairview Park Police and the driver, a 82-year-old Westlake man, was having a medical emergency. He was transported to hospital by ambulance. No one was injured in the traffic accident.

  • On 07/23/2019 at about 9:55 AM police responded to Pearle Vision Center 19649 Center Ridge Rd. after a reported road rage incident. The caller, 55-year-old Stephen Radick from Bay Village, reported that he was dropping his wife off when the driver of a Dodge Ram cut through the Pearle Vision parking lot to avoid the traffic signal on Center Ridge Rd. at Goldengate. The caller followed the Dodge and confronted the driver, 63-year-old Serge Elias from Rocky River, using foul language. Mr. Elias retrieved a baseball bat and threatened the caller with it. Mr. Elias was arrested for Menacing; Mr. Radick was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

  • On 07/29/2019 at about 9:20 PM a caller reported a man sitting on the curb near 2890 Wooster Rd. who seemed intoxicated. Police arrived and located the man described lying on the grass, intoxicated, and unable to properly care for himself. Joseph McChrystal, a 56-year-old Rocky River man, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated.
