Solon Police were dispatched along with the fire department on a request for treatment of an injury. On arrival officers encountered an adult male who had an obvious injury to his face. The male indicated that he did not want any police involvement and he only wanted assistance with his “son”. Through speaking with the male it was learned that he had been punched in the face by his “son” during an argument. The 14 year old was arrested and transported to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center. A complaint has been filed with juvenile court.

Arrested: Mikayla Welch, 22 from Windham

An off duty Solon Police Officer discovered a vehicle on US 422 at Mile Post 20 off the left side of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle told the officer that she was drunk and that she pulled over due to feeling sick. An on duty officer responded and had the driver perform field tests which indicated impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center where she submitted to a breath test. The results of the breath test were .097.

Arrested: Kevin Moore, 29 from Euclid

Solon Police were contacted by Bainbridge Police to report a vehicle being operated erractly on US 422 from SR 306. Officers caught up to the vehicle west of Harper Rd. and observed as the vehicle committed several traffic violations. While speaking with the driver he initially denied consuming alcohol but then did admit to drinking one beer at his parent’s house. A series of field tests were conducted and they indicated that the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center.Breath test was performed at the correction center indicating a BAC of .184. Located in the vehicle were two open bottles of rum.

Arrested: Kevin Hudson, 22 from Euclid

While investigation a disabled vehicle on US 422 in the westbound lanes there was located fresh damage to the vehicle as well as a flat tire. While speaking with the driver there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about him. The driver admitted to drinking and was unsure where he had been involved in a crash. It was determined that the driver had struck a sign on the entrance ramp to US 422 from SR 91. Field tests were performed by the driver and it was determined that he was impaired. He was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center where a breath test was conducted. The results of the breath test were .126

Offense: Improperly handling a firearm in a Motor Vehicle/Drug Paraphernalia/Window tint/Faulty Muffler.

Arrested: Robert Morris, 27 from Richmond Hts.

A Solon Police Officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was observed to have several equipment violations. A check of the registration also showed that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license with limited privileges. While the driver was attempting to locate required paperwork, the officer noticed a bag of suspected marijuana in the center console after the driver opened it. The contraband was seized. When the driver opened the glove compartment he immediately closed it but not before the officer saw a silver handgun. The gun was seized and discovered to be loaded. The driver did not possess a permit for a concealed weapon. Also located in the vehicle was a scale.

Arrested: Tina Fellenstein, 58 from Cleveland

A Solon Police officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated on US 422 westbound which was failing to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle would travel outside of the lane designators and then abruptly return to its lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and while speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver and/or vehicle. The driver denied consuming any alcohol. The officer conducted field tests with the driver and determined that the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station and when afforded the opportunity of a breath test she refused.

Taikia McCantis, 24 from Cleveland Robbery/Kidnapping

Solon Police were advised of a robbery that had just occurred in the 32000 block of Aurora Rd. Officers were advised that a male had been approached by an unknown female while he was seated in his vehicle. The female entered his vehicle and produced a hand gun. An unknown male then approached and got into the back seat of his vehicle and pointed a gun at the back of his head. The male then demanded the victim’s keys, cell phone and wallet. After obtaining the property the suspects fled from the vehicle into a waiting vehicle. A description was broadcast of the suspect vehicle and the direction of travel. The vehicle was observed by an on duty detective entering 422. The detective attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle fled west bound on US 422 at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued with the assistance of a marked Solon Police unit. As the pursuit left the city of Solon the driver of the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed his vehicle on US 480 in the area of the Miles Rd. exit. The 3 occupants of the vehicle were arrested and 2 loaded firearms were recovered along with the victim’s property.

Location: Baldwin Ave.

Arrested: Gianni Szabo, 21 from Solon

Solon Police were dispatched to a reported vehicle crash on Baldwin Ave. Upon arrival officers learned that a resident stated that he was inside his house when he heard a loud crash and came outside to see that his vehicle had been struck while parked on the street. The resident observed a vehicle leaving the scene and followed the vehicle and was able to get the other driver to stop. The driver was convinced to return to the scene. While speaking with the driver an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected about his person. He denied drinking any alcohol. Field tests indicated that the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the police station where he submitted to a breath test. The results of the breath test were .165.
