GLENDALE, ARI -- The Cleveland Browns defense did not have an answer for Arizona running back Kenyan Drake, who found the endzone four times on his way to 137 total rushing yards. Kyler Murray appeared to come into his own on Sunday afternoon, tossing for 219 yards and a score as the Arizona Cardinals snap a six-game losing streak in a 38-24 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
Former Oklahoma Sooner Kyler Murray got the best of an anticipated showdown with Baker Mayfield. The two quarterbacks were former teammates at Oklahoma, and both won Heisman Trophies on their way out. Murray was calm and collected throughout the game, completing 19 of 25 pass attempts for 219 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Cardinals were nearly perfect when faced with third down situations, converting 9 of 14 third downs.
During the fourth quarter, Cleveland's rookie kicker Austin Seibert missed a 45-yard field goal attempt that would've put the Browns within 8-points of the Cardinals. On the following drive, Arizona fed Kenyan Drake a heavy amount, finishing off the drive with a 17-yard touchdown run by Drake to put the Browns to bed.
The NFL's leading rusher Nick Chubb ran for 127 yards on 17 attempts, including a long run of 33 yards. Former Arizona Cardinal Ricky Seals-Jones caught two touchdown passes in his first time facing his former squad. Rookie linebacker Mack Wilson picked off Kyler Murray for his first career interception. The Cleveland Browns 2019 struggles continued on Sunday, losing their 25th straight game after trailing at halftime.
