100 Ohio State Troopers Dispatched To Minnesota

(Columbus) - We've now learned that it will be 100 Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers have been dispatched to Minnesota to help keep the peace when a verdict comes down in the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin.

A spokesperson for the OSP says Ohio troopers will help protect property, allowing local officers to remain able to respond to routine emergency calls. The State of Minnesota is covering the cost of the Ohio troopers presence.

Chauvin is charged with the May 2020 death of George Floyd. The jury got the case late Monday afternoon.
