Father and Son Drown In Metroparks Lake in Berea

(Berea) - A Parma man and one of his children drowned in an incident at Wallace Lake in Berea, which is in the Cleveland Metroparks.

Metroparks Police say the father and six children went swimming Monday evening in Wallace Lake, which is near downtown Berea. The area is not designated for swimming. The father and two of the children went under water, but the other four children got out of the water on their own.

Cleveland Metroparks and Berea Police pulled the father and the two children out of the water, and took all of them to Southwest General Hospital.

Tuesday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed that Veniamin Lozitsky, 37, of Parma is dead, along with his son, Luke, who was 10. It's presumed they both drowned, but the official ruling still needs to be made by the ME's office.
