Painesville man Arrested in Lake Dine & Dance Shooting

Cleveland, OH - The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has made another arrest in the July 5th, 2021 shooting incident that occurred at Lake Dine & Dance on 520 Fairport-Nursery Road in Painesville Township during which a 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg.

Jermaine Spikes, a 31-year-old Painesville City resident, was arrested on July 9th, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia after it was discovered that he had left Ohio and was headed south. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau worked with the United States Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in developing information that Spikes was in Atlanta, and they utilized the United States Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force for assistance there.

Spikes was taken into custody. He was extradited back to Lake County and was arraigned through Painesville Municipal Court on Illegal Possession of a Firearm in a Liquor Permit Premises, and Having Weapons While under Disability, both of which are felony charges.

A second suspect was arrested but his name has not been released. Officials also say additional arrests are expected. The bar may also lose its' liquor license.
