CSU Wins 3 Straight, Now In A 4 Way Tie For First Place In Horizon League

FORT WAYNE, IN--- The Cleveland State Men's basketball team won their 3rd straight game Monday night 72-60 against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. These 2 teams surprisingly ended the game in regulation as in 2 meetings in the last 2 years, there have been 2 triple overtime games, In March of 2021 in their Horizon League tournament matchup and then on February 12th of 2022.

The Vikings are in a 4 way tie for 1st place in the Horizon League with Northern Kentucky, Youngstown State, and Milwaukee. CSU got a good chunk of their points on 2nd chance buckets, pulling in 39 rebounds as a team. Shooting from behind the arc tonight for both teams was cold, CSU only made 4 of their 19 attempts, and PFW made 6 of 23 attempts. The game got very interesting in the 2nd half, PFW came out hot, going on a 9-0 run to start the 2nd half until Deante "Spider" Johnson would end the run on a layup to make the score 35-34 with the Mastodons leading. Johnson would finish with 10 points, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line while pulling in 9 rebounds. The story of the 2nd half was Mr. 2nd half Tristan Enaruna, who scored a game leading 24 points, 11 straight after the 9-0 PFW run , pulling in 12 rebounds and getting 3 steals. Tae Williams was also one of the 4 Vikings in double figures scoring 12, Deshon Parker would be the 4th also scoring 12.
