James Gunn Shows Off "Phase 1" Of New DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran, the co-chiefs of newly created DC Studios have announced the first movie and TV shows within the rebooted DC Universe. This new vision for DC’s future is made to be a truly unified universe, similar to Marvel. Gunn called the previous universe “disconnected”, and is committed to one overarching story.

Gunn took to Twitter to share the full slate of upcoming movies & TV shows. The new movies include the already announced “Shazam 2” and “The Flash” as well as a new Batman & Robin film “The Brave and the Bold”. “The Authority” was also announced, about a group of superheroes who decide to save the world no matter the cost.

The new TV shows, meanwhile, include a Wonder Woman prequel series that Gunn compares to “Game Of Thrones” and a Green Lantern mystery series. Meanwhile, Gunn noted that some titles like Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman” and Joaquin Phoenix’s “Joker” movies are not part of the DC Universe, but are now part of the “Elseworlds” collection.
