(Columbus) During Wednesday's meeting of the Ohio Oil and Gas Land Management Commission, the panel decided to open parcels of land within Salt Fork State Park to allow for energy companies to bid for the rights to search for oil and gas reserves by way of fracking. The five commissioners also agreed to open portions of the Valley Run Wildlife Area in Carroll County and the Zepernick Run Wildlife Area in Columbiana County. The Commission rejected a request to open Wolf Run State Park in Noble County. Back in September the Panel chose to table its decisions after hearing from several opposition groups, including "Save Our Parks."
