Michael Deemer, President & CEO from The Downtown Cleveland Alliance spoke to Bill about December Recovery - WinterLand Continues - Warm up Downtown at Bright Nights - Snow Days at Mall B

December Recovery: 

  • Total Monthly Foot traffic was 4.5 Million. 
  • That’s an 87.7% recovery from December 2019 and our busiest December since the pandemic. 
  • Our visitor foot traffic for December 2023 recovered 91% compared to December 2019. 
  • There is so much to do Downtown with world-class restaurants, vibrant nightlife, and family-friendly sporting events all year round. 
  • Based on our projections, we are on track to return to pre-pandemic visitor levels in 2024.  

 

WinterLand Continues: 

 Get a taste of Downtown living with Downtown Cleveland, Inc.’s LIVE #dtCLE tours- 

  • Experience what it’s like to live and play Downtown, just like the over 20,000 people already enjoy that call Downtown Cleveland home. 
  • Participants will be led on a themed guided tour of three Downtown residences and multiple “experience” stops featuring amenities, conveniences, food, beverages, and more.

Warm up Downtown at Bright Nights- 

  • Located at US Bank Plaza, these events feature a pop-up bar, firepits, and music. The perfect Downtown “backyard” experience to complement a fun Saturday night. 
  • Free to attend, so grab your friends, family, and neighbors, and join us on Saturday, January 27th, and February 10th from 5-8pm. 
  • Cocktails, drinks, and s’more kits will be available to purchase on-site via credit/debit card, including spiked hot cocoa, mulled wine, and beer. 

 

Snow Days at Mall B- 

  • Sponsored by Cleveland State University, these events will spontaneously pop up on Mall B when enough snow accumulates.
