A Little About Me...
I genuinely love sports! From the time I was a little girl tagging along with my sportswriter dad (Burt Graeff, formerly of the Cleveland Press and the Plain Dealer), I have been hooked. I think what really made me a fan happened when I was five. My dad took me in the Cavaliers lockerroom after a game to go visit (then coach) Bill Fitch. He gave me gum. Now, when you're five, and somebody gives you gum, you pretty much consider them a friend for life!
Since then, I have been lucky to experience live all kinds of amazing events in Cleveland sports history including: Red Right 88 (I was 10 when my dad took me to that freezing game-much to dismay of my grandma! I will never forget it!), The Miracle at Richfield (I was 5- the memory is foggy.), and, Cavaliers playoff games in the late 80's (Curse you Michael Jordan! I was a huge Mark Price, Craig Eee-lo, Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper :-(, and then, Larry Nance fan).
Once I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in broadcast journalism in 1992, I was fortunate to start my career, right here in Cleveland. I have since covered both World Series appearances, the Browns leaving, the Browns returning, LeBron, and everything in between.
Along the way, I appropriately met my husband Ron, because of sports. He was working as a sports reporter for WUAB-43 at the time, and I was in college, still tagging along with my dad. We met at Cavs practice, got married a couple years later, and have been fighting over the sports page ever since!
I have worked part-time at WTAM since 1996, shortly after I gave birth to our first child, Riley. Since then, we've had 3 more children (Julia, Caroline, and Maggie), but my love of sports and working at WTAM has never wavered. I feel honored to be a part of such an amazing staff.
Thank for listening! |
