About Coats For Kids
What is Coats for Kids?
In 1981, WTAM 1100 (then 3WE) discovered that a large number of children were missing school in the winter because they did not have warm coats. That November, "Coats for Kids" was founded and the radio station began soliciting donations of "like new, gently worn" coats and cash donations to purchase new coats. Since 1981, the campaign has raised more than $2.6 million and given over 395,000 area youngsters new or "like new" coats.

When is the Campaign?
Coats for Kids will begin in early November. The date for the on-air kickoff is November 1st. The distribution for this years campaign will take place at the Cleveland Convention Center in December.

Goals for this years Campaign:
We hope to collect 35,000 coats and/or raise $100,000 in this years campaign. The best part is that all of the funds and coats that are collected stay right here in Northeast Ohio!
