Mourning the King of Pop
Rock Hall staff and visitors remember the music legend.

Curatorial Director Howard Kramer talks with WTAM's Dean Leyland

(Cleveland)
- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is inviting the public who want to pay tribute to Michael Jackson to bring a memento, flowers etc. to the Rock Hall.

The Rock Hall has a Guitar Mania guitar (pictured above) designed in Michael Jackson’s honor in the Main Lobby where people can leave their personal tributes.

The Rock Hall will also be paying special tribute to Michael Jackson at the Rock and Soul festival Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Also in honor of Michael Jackson’s legacy they will be showing video presentations all weekend in our Fourth floor theater and playing his music exclusively all weekend.

The curatorial director of the Rock Hall says Michael Jackson had an amazing body of work that few people have matched in their careers.

Howard Kramer tells WTAM 1100 that only a handful of artists in the past 40 years achieved what Jackson did.

Kramer says Jackson excelled as a singer, a song writer and as a performer.

Kramer says it's unfortunate that Jackson’s personality quirks overshadowed Jackson’s legacy as a musician.

He says Jackson created a body of work that people are going to be listening to many years from now.

Jackson was inducted into the Rock Hall as a solo artist in 2001 and as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1997.
