In a news conference at the Justice Center Friday, Cordray revealed that he would investigate appraisals done over the past decade by Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo's office in Cleveland. Cordray also called on Russo to resign, and promised that his probe will be extensive and could last several years. It was requested by other county officials

Russo is at the center of a federal corruption probe that began last year when federal agents raided the homes and offices of Russo and County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora. The two have not been charged and deny wrongdoing.

A top aide to Russo was arrested and accused last week of funneling about $1.2 million in cash bribes to her boss.
