Four have now pleaded guilty in corruption case
Sentencing is delayed as convicts are expected to cooperate with the FBI investigation.

(Cleveland) - Two more people have pleaded guilty in a wide-ranging public corruption investigation in Cuyahoga County.

Former county engineer's office employee Daniel Gallagher of Strongsville entered guilty pleas Thursday to various conspiracy, theft, bribery and tax evasion charges under a plea agreement.

Businessman Brian Schuman of Bedford pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

No sentencing dates were set.

They pleaded guilty in an FBI investigation of alleged bribes paid to elected Cuyahoga County officials in return for steering contracts.

These follow two other pleas on Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen O'Malley accepted the guilty pleas from J. Kevin Kelley and Kevin Payne on charges including bribery conspiracy and tax fraud.

The judge says each defendant could face up to 10 years in prison.

Both have agreed to cooperate under a plea deal in which the government will recommend sentences at the lower end of federal guidelines.

No elected officials have been charged and a target of the probe, County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, says he's innocent of wrongdoing.
