Rescuers trying to find home for the felines.

(Lakemore) - An animal rescuer is trying to find foster homes for 50 cats left behind in a Lakemore home that has been foreclosed.
Eric Schickendantz says he's been helping to take care of the cats, but the bank wants them out within two weeks.
The man who lived in the house started with only one cat four years ago, but became totally overwhelmed with the cats and his financial problems.
Schickendantz says he's seen a huge increase in people abandoning cats because the economy has put them in situations where they can't afford to take care of their animals.
Akron-area animal shelters are overflowing.
Anyone wishing to foster a cat can reach Schickendantzof Katmandu Rescue at 330-864-2879 or
