Northeast Ohioans seek mortgage help
Homeowners pack Wolstein Center looking for foreclosure relief.

(Cleveland) - Thousands of people around Greater Cleveland are taking advantage of the four-day Foreclosure Prevention Fair.

It’s being held at CSU's Wolstein Center through Monday night. Counselors are available from 9am until 8pm.

The fair is being conducted by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America which provides free services to help homeowners achieve long term solutions to problems such as high mortgage payments, and foreclosure. U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge was instrumental in bringing NACA to town.

Some homeowners arrived hoping to lower their mortgage interest rates. Others say this is their last hope to save their homes.

One homeowner explained that he is due in foreclosure court later this month, and may end up living in a tent if NACA can’t assist him.

Others say they have been hurt by layoffs, reduced working hours, or forced retirement and are struggling to pay their bills. All says they are thankful NACA counselors are in town.
