Our forecast: hot hot hot
Warm weather settles over Cleveland.

(Cleveland) – Our current late summer heat wave continues, with temperatures near 90 through Monday. This is not unusual. So says state climatologist Dr. Jeffrey Rogers who feels the very warm weather will extend into September.

Rogers believes the heat wave might indicate that Ohio is going to get less snow this winter, but contends winter temperatures are too hard to predict right now.

Rogers says as kids go back to the school later this month, they will find continued hot conditions with little rain. He doubts if we will come anywhere near the 100 degree mark this year.

Rogers explains that the warm weather is good for Ohio farmers, who want their lands to dry out for corn crops, and there are few areas in the state with actual drought conditions.

With daytime temperatures in the 90s along the Northcoast, we found few Clevelanders who favor the snows of winter to our current heat wave.

Most say they are dealing with the warm spell by wearing cool clothes, and drinking plenty of liquids. Nearly all like it better than snow, and wish Cleveland had even more warm days.
