(Cleveland) - A Patriot's Day Observance was conducted Friday morning on the steps of City Hall.
Mayor Frank Jackson, Safety Director Martin Flask, and other city leaders remembered those who died during the 9-11 attacks, and those who continue to serve in the military around the world.

Jackson says this is a time to reflect on our personal service to the city, the region and the country, because we all have something significant to contribute.
Gulf War veteran and Cleveland councilman Joe Santiago was among those taking part in 9-11 ceremony, along with dozens of police, fire, and first responders.
Joe SantiagoSantiago says we must continue to support those in the military with letter of support, along with food, and treats from home, to help break the isolation they feel.
On display was a bolted block of metal that was dislodged during the 9-11 attacks and found at Ground Zero by Cleveland firefighters.

Earlier in the morning, a ceremony was held in the center of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport's main screening area. A moment of silence was observed and conducted by the TSA Color Guard.
Transportation Security Administration administrators say they wanted to show their sympathies to the families of the victims of 9-11, as well as to the members of the military currently serving to keep America safe.
Cleveland TSA manager Doug Coman says 9-11 was a touchstone event for the nation, and just like Pearl Harbor, the Kennedy and King assassinations...it must not happen again.
