Walkway expected to increase attendance.

A 400 foot connector now branches the Great Lakes Science Center and the William G. Mather .
The two facilities joined forces in 2006 and this new, glass walkway will allow folks year round, sheltered access between the two locations. The glass walkway is heated so people will be comfortable in the wintertime.
In the summertime, the walkway will become much like a breezeway as the windows operate much like garage doors. They can be raised to allow the lake's breeze to blow in.
The connector took about a year to build and came in at a cost of about $3.5 million.
